About Katy McDevitt
Background + experience
Katy draws on a rich and unusual combination of educational, strategic and commercial experience as a senior leader and manager over 20 years in fields including corporate learning, higher education, and digital learning and publishing.
Katy has worked with a wide variety of teams and enterprises, with particular success in establishing and growing innovative capabilities at scale for the changing world of work. She is a former Director at Adelaide University and Pearson Australia, Chief Learning Officer at HEX, and immediate past Faculty Lead for the prestigious Williamson Community Leadership Program at Leadership Victoria.
In 2025, Katy launched Comma Leadership with the aspiration to help create the conditions for leaders and teams to think, choose, and act with purpose – and achieve sustainable results in complex times.
Coaching + Leadership Development Credentials
Following graduate studies in Learning Sciences and Technology at the University of Sydney, Katy opted to specialise in Professional and Adult Development, tying in with her significant experience leading and developing talent and teams in complex, changing organisations.
Katy is a Certified Organisational and Executive Coach through the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership and a Certified Coach for psychometric and developmental assessments including The Leadership Circle, Harthill Consulting, and LifeStyles Inventory (LSI).
Katy is fortunate to have trained not once but twice with Harvard specialists in Adaptive Leadership and Adult Development! She's an alumna of The Art and Practice of Leadership Development Program and the Immunity to Change™ Facilitator's Workshop, taught by Ron Heifetz and Professor Bob Kegan respectively.
